Professional Organizations

While the Russ College offers local programs for resident 学生, many organizations and resources are available for both resident and online 学生, often including networking, 指导, and professional development opportunities to help you stand out from other graduates. Some of these organizations include:

• National Society for Black Engineers (NSBE)
  The National Society of Black Engineer is one of the largest student organizations in the world. It is 501c3 non-profit organization. Its members consists of professions in STEM areas ranging from late middle school to professional careers. NSBE is a space for 学生 of color to come together and navigate post-secondary education, 找工作和职业, and connect with other 学生 and professionals like themselves. NSBE at OU will connect 学生 with faculty members that are here to 支持 them and bring advice and wisdom. We not only serve people of color but all who would like to witness the number of culturally black individuals succeed.

• Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE)
  The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) is the largest association in the nation for Hispanics in STEM.  Our top priority is providing a diverse and cultured environment for studying engineers to thrive. Our 学生 plan and participate in fun activities and projects. One of which is an experiential learning project, still in the works. Our values are familia, service, education and resilience.  We are building a diverse and inclusive membership geared towards STEM education and dedicated to continuous improvement and renewal to help our members grow as individuals, 学生, 领导人, 未来的工程师.

• Society for Women Engineers (SWE)
  The Society of Women Engineers in Russ College serves to encour年龄, 支持, and empower women and other underrepresented people in engineering. Our section actively hosts events like guest speakers, professional development events, 社交活动, and outreach activities.   航空领域的女性 International is dedicated to encour年龄ment and advancement of women in all aviation career fields and interests. All that is required is a love of aviation, and the 支持 and encour年龄ment of women in the field. The newbb电子平台 Chapter is open for 学生 of all majors, and encour年龄s those interested in all aspects of aviation from engineering to pilots, man年龄ment to maintenance. We attend the annual conference with representatives from airlines, aircraft manufacturers, 发动机制造商, military organizations and others. If you are interested in any aspect of aviation, this is the organization for you!
